One groomer, one room, one dog
I’m Ciara. I grew up in Moygashel with a house full of spaniels, and opened this salon in 2019.
City & Guilds Level 3 Before this I spent six years in a busy salon in Belfast. It taught me the trade. It also taught me what I did not want to do: book six dogs in at nine o’clock and keep them in crates until their turn.
Most dogs cope. A lot of them don’t, and you can see it on the table. So here there is one dog in the room at a time. I groom fewer dogs in a day, and the ones I groom are calmer, easier to handle, and a lot happier to come back.
Built for big dogs and old dogs
A converted single-storey cottage on the Killyman Road. A walk-in bath with a ramp, a table that lowers to the floor, and quiet dryers. Two spaces right outside the salon door, so nobody walks a wet dog across a car park.
