Book a groom

Ringing is quickest. If I’m mid-groom it goes to voicemail, and I ring back between dogs — usually within the hour.

The phone goes to voicemail while a dog is on the table. I ring back between grooms.

Parking

Two spaces right outside the salon door, so nobody walks a wet dog across a car park.

Questions people ask

How do I book?

Ring, text or WhatsApp 07700 900 263, or send the form on this page. Tell me the breed and roughly when the last groom was, and I will come back with a day and a figure.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Weekdays are usually within a week. Saturdays go two to three weeks ahead, because most regulars book their next groom while they are paying for this one — every six to eight weeks keeps most coats easy. Doing the same saves you chasing a slot.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Yes — up to date with the usual vaccinations, and puppies once their second jabs are done. Kennel cough is not required, but with only one dog in the salon at a time the risk is small anyway.

What if my dog is matted?

Light knots I brush out. Where the coat is matted to the skin, brushing it out would hurt, so the kind thing is to clip it short and let it grow back. I will always ring you before I do that, never after.

Do you take big dogs?

Yes. The table lowers to the floor and the bath has a ramp, so nobody has to lift a forty-kilo dog. Giant breeds get a longer slot, so mention it when you book.

What if I find fleas — or you do?

It happens to the best-kept dogs. If I find fleas, I finish with a flea wash (£10) and tell you at collection, then the salon gets a deep clean before the next dog. If you know already, say so when you book and I will put you last in the day.

My dog snaps at the groomer. Will you take him?

Tell me when you book, and nothing is held against you. One dog in a quiet room takes away most of what sets a dog off. I go slowly, and if a dog is truly frightened I stop and ring you rather than push through a full groom — sometimes the answer is a few short visits first.

Will my dog be in a cage?

No. There is only ever one dog in the salon, so there is nothing to wait in a cage for. You get a text twenty minutes before collection.

What if I need to cancel?

Give me a day’s notice and it is no problem. There is no deposit. If it keeps happening I may ask for one next time.

How do I pay?

Card, cash or bank transfer, at collection. Every price here is the price you pay — I am not VAT registered.
