Full dog groom in Dungannon
The whole job, start to finish, at the salon in Moygashel on the edge of Dungannon. Your dog goes home clean, dry, cut to the length you asked for and smelling like somebody else’s dog for about a day.
£38 to £75 Who it suits
- Poodles, doodles, bichons, shih tzus, schnauzers — any coat that keeps growing.
- Spaniels and terriers that need their shape put back every six to eight weeks.
- Any dog whose coat has got away from you over the winter.
What happens at a full dog groom
-
A chat at the door
Two minutes on the length you want, anything sore, and whether there are knots. Bring a photo if you have a look in mind — it saves a lot of guessing.
-
Brush out, then bath
Knots come out before the water, because a wet knot tightens. Shampoo suited to the coat, and a second wash if the first one comes off brown.
-
Dry and cut
Fluff-dried straight so the cut sits evenly, then clipped or scissored to style. Face, feet and hygiene areas done by hand.
-
Nails, ears, and a text
Nails clipped and filed, ears checked and cleaned. You get a text about twenty minutes before your dog is ready, so nobody waits in a cage. Most people book the next groom at collection — six to eight weeks suits most coats.
Hand-stripping
Wire-coated terriers can be hand-stripped instead of clipped, which keeps the coat’s colour and texture. It is slow work, so it is booked by the hour at £40, and most dogs need about two.
