A clinic that does one thing
Ardan opened in 2016 to place dental implants and nothing else. No fillings, no children’s list, no hygiene appointments for people who are not implant patients. Over 1,400 implants since then.

01 The idea
Why implant specialists narrow the work down
There is a fair argument that a dentist should be able to do everything, and we do not accept it for surgery.
An implant is a small operation in a jaw with a nerve running through it and a sinus above it. Placing five a year and placing five a week are different jobs. The difference does not appear in the easy cases — it appears in the case where the bone is thinner than expected and the decision has to be made while the patient is in the chair.
It also means we can say no. A practice that places the occasional implant has every incentive to make yours work. When implants are the whole of the business, turning down the cases that should not proceed costs nothing, and it is the most useful thing we can offer somebody.
02 Planning
Everything decided before the day
Every patient has a CBCT scan at the first appointment — a low-dose 3D X-ray that shows the height, width and density of bone and the exact position of the nerve and sinus. A flat X-ray shows none of that.
The plan is then made on the scan rather than on the day: implant positions, angles, depths, where the bone is worth using. The surgical guide is printed downstairs from that plan, so the position decided with time to think is the position the implant ends up in.
An intraoral scanner takes the impressions, which means no tray of putty and no gagging — a specific fear a great many patients arrive with and rarely mention.
03 The laboratory
Marek works upstairs
Most practices post their work to a laboratory. We have one on the premises, and it changes the awkward moments rather than the routine ones.
A shade that is not quite right is normally a fortnight and two appointments. Here it is the technician coming down to look at the tooth in daylight and adjusting it that afternoon. A temporary bridge that needs reshaping on the surgery day gets reshaped on the surgery day.
It is also why we can promise fixed temporary teeth on the day of full arch surgery without qualifying it.
04 The building
A converted townhouse on the Malone side
Ground-floor surgery, step-free from the car park, and eight parking spaces — which for our patients is not a footnote.
05 Regulation
Who we answer to
Our dentists are registered with the General Dental Council, and the practice is registered with the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority, which inspects private dental practices in Northern Ireland.
If something goes wrong, the complaints procedure sets out the stages, the timescales and who to go to if you are not satisfied with our answer. The guarantee on our work is set out there too, because it belongs with the rest of the obligations rather than in the marketing.
Registration wording on this concept site is a placeholder and would need review before use by a real practice. This is a concept website created for portfolio purposes. Ardan Implant Clinic is a fictional practice.
