Toothache today: emergency dentist in Cookstown
028 9649 6320Mon–Wed 08:30–17:30 · Thu until 20:00 · Fri until 16:00 · Sat mornings fortnightly
We keep appointments free every morning for pain. Ring early. If they've gone by the time you get through we'll tell you straight and give you somewhere else to try.
You don't need to be registered with us.
Who should you ring?
What to do until you get here
- 01
Painkillers, the ordinary ones
Whatever you would normally take for a headache, at the dose on the box. Do not exceed it and do not put a tablet against the gum — aspirin held against gum burns it.
- 02
Cold on the outside of the cheek
Helps with swelling. Not heat.
- 03
If a crown or filling has come out, keep it
Put it somewhere safe and bring it. Sometimes it goes straight back in.
- 04
If an adult tooth has been knocked out
Hold it by the crown, not the root. Do not scrub it. Put it back in the socket if you can, or in milk if you cannot, and ring us straight away — this one is genuinely time-critical.
Emergency dentist out of hours
Ring the practice number first — the answerphone message tells you what is available. Outside our hours, Northern Ireland has an urgent dental service reached through your GP out-of-hours number.
Facial swelling with a fever, or difficulty swallowing or breathing, is an emergency department matter and not a dental one. Go to A&E or ring 999.
An emergency appointment is £65 and lasts twenty minutes. It is about getting you out of pain and finding out what happened; the repair itself is usually a second visit, once you can think straight.
