New patients: registering with us
Ring us and Gemma will sort it. There's no paperwork to fill in before you come and no waiting list to join.
Where things stand for new patients
We're taking new patients.
- Private registration, open now. First appointment usually one to three weeks.
- NHS registration, open now. Check-ups are free.
- Depends on the week. Ring and ask — the answer changes, and we would rather give it to you on the phone.
- You do not need to be registered to be seen in pain. Ring us this morning.
NHS or private?
NHS treatment is charged in fixed bands set centrally and covers what is clinically necessary. Private treatment is charged per item, allows longer appointments and covers more, such as whitening and veneers. It is the same dentists in the same rooms either way.
Which one you are on depends mostly on what is available when you register. NHS places for adults change from week to week, so ring us and Gemma will tell you where things stand today.
What to bring
- Your address and date of birth, for the notes
- A list of any medicines you take — a photo of the boxes is fine
- The name of your previous dentist, if you have one
- An exemption certificate, if you have one
If you have none of that, come anyway. None of it stops the appointment happening.
What happens at the first appointment
- 01
A look at everything
Teeth, gums, and the soft tissue in your mouth, including a check for anything that should not be there. Ten minutes of it.
- 02
X-rays, if they are needed
We tell you why before we take any, and what we are looking for. They are not automatic.
- 03
A conversation
What we found, in plain words, and what your options are — including leaving something alone and watching it, where that is reasonable.
- 04
A written plan with prices
You leave with it. Nothing gets booked at the desk before you have had a chance to read it at home.
A new patient exam is £52 and takes half an hour, which is longer than a routine check-up because of the history and the plan.
Moving from another practice
You do not need permission from your current dentist and you do not need to tell them why. Register with us and that is the whole of it.
Your records stay with them. If we need something specific — a recent x-ray, notes on a tooth that has been treated before — we ask you first and then request it in writing. Nothing is done behind your back.
If you are mid-treatment somewhere else, say so on the phone. Picking up halfway through somebody else's plan needs a conversation before an appointment.
Or send us your details
This is a request for a call back, not a medical form — we do not ask for anything clinical here and you should not put anything clinical in it. Gemma Watson rings back the next working day.
One phone call and you're registered.
Gemma answers the phone. She can tell you what's available today.
